About the role: 

The Principal Reporting Analyst plays a key role in designing, developing and maintaining interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI to support data-driven decision-making process at Hospitals Victoria. This position requires a good understanding of healthcare operations from both clinical and financial perspective. Working within a collaborative environment, this role involves close engagement with the Insights & Analytics Senior Manager, and Senior Data Engineer to facilitate the integration of new data items into our internal data environment. The Principal Data Analyst manages the report development workflow, leads requirement-gathering engagements with end users, facilitating accurate and meaningful insights for decision-making. This position requires a strong technical foundation in business intelligence tools, particularly Power BI, SQL Server Management Studies and/or Azure Databricks. The role supports the broader department strategy by improving data accessibility, reliability, and scalability, enabling more effective health service analysis and performance monitoring.

About you:

  • An experienced leader in development of user-friendly and interactive Power BI reports?
  • Experienced with building performance-tuned DAX and PBI models aligned with best practice and industry standard?  
  • Technically adept in transforming complex health and financial data to easily understandable information?
  • Skilled in ensuring data quality, consistency, and integrity through rigorous QA and acceptance processes?
  • Experienced with management of organizational data warehouse and business intelligence reporting platforms?
