IBAC is responsible for preventing, detecting and investigating serious corruption in the Victorian public sector, as well as police personnel misconduct.

We are seeking the expertise of a Senior Technical Officer to provide day to day technical support to telecommunications interception and surveillance systems within the Electronic Collections Unit.

You will be pivotal in the delivery of sound operational services and management of sensitive evidentiary material to internal clients in a discreet environment. This will involve supporting, managing and developing covert systems to support IBAC operations. Highly developed oral and written communication skills are essential, as is experience in leading small technical teams.

The Senior Technical Officer will have significant experience within IT encompassing one or more of the following: 

  • overseeing desktop support in client/server environments
  • managing local area networks, including firewalls and network security principals
  • demonstrated experience in Windows Server administration
  • awareness of Linux and SQL database administration
  • exposure to storage area networks
  • virtualisation technologies in both desktop and server instances
  • awareness of telecommunication protocols and standards

Tertiary qualifications in IT/Telecommunications, industry certifications (such as MCSA, CCNA, VCP) and/or prior experience working with electronic collection systems is highly desirable.

The Senior Technical Officer will be required to participate in an on-call roster and may be required to work afternoon, nights, weekends and public holidays depending on operational requirements.
