Position Details
An exciting opportunity has arisen to become our next After Hours Coordinator/Grade 5 Registered Nurse. This is a senior management position overseeing the health service in all off periods of the Director of Clinical Services. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the organisation's senior leaders, managers and staff to promote a culture that facilitates the delivery of high-quality healthcare in a full time role, whilst continuing to utilise clinical skills, attending to patients in our Urgent Care Centre and having a patient load in our Acute ward.
Kerang District Health (KDH) is a small rural health service housed in a state-of-the-art redeveloped facility opened in 2016. The organisation has provided health care to residents of the Gannawarra Shire Council area for over 60 years, offering a broad range of acute medical, oncology and surgical services which include general surgery, gynaecology and urology services. With an annual turnover of more than $14 million and employing approximately 180 staff, KDH also provides a wide range of community services, a GP clinic and residential aged care within a modern 30 bed facility connected to the acute hospital.

As the After Hours Hospital Coordinator/Grade 5 Registered Nurse your responsibilities will include:
- Supervise safe, quality care that meets current best practice and evidence based standards;
- Support and liaise with the respective Nurse Unit Manager(s) of wards and departments;
- Ensure all areas are staffed appropriately and cost efficient;
- Coordinate patient admissions;
- Oversee the safety of all patients and hospital staff;
- Take on a clinical load including attending to urgent care presentations.
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will have a Bachelor of Nursing with relevant post grad qualification(s) highly regarded, professional registration with AHPRA, recent management experience at ANUM level or higher and excellent people and negotiation skills. You will promote yourself as an innovative leader that understands the dynamics of a rural health service. A current police check is required, or be willing to obtain one; along with full Covid-19 vaccination and Annual influenza vaccination.
Remuneration will be provided in line with the Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2020 - 2024.
