Position Details

Infrastructure Victoria is an independent statutory authority which provides expert advice and guides decision-making on Victoria's infrastructure needs and priorities.

The Principal Economist will use economic expertise and analytical skills to help formulate infrastructure solutions and conduct analysis, research, and modelling. The successful applicant will lead and help manage projects, engage with stakeholders, provide evidence-based advice and briefings on complex infrastructure matters, and contribute to other products and responsibilities within IV as required.

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate professional experience in economic analysis and techniques, such as economic assessment, costing, modelling, and econometrics. You will also demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills, an achievement in producing and communicating strategic and practical advice expertise to senior management and help lead or deliver projects effectively and within agreed timeframes.

We require applicants to hold a bachelor degree or higher in economics, econometrics, statistics, or data analysis for this position. Experience in developing or applying economic analysis and modelling will be highly regarded. Infrastructure Victoria seeks to employ diverse talent with many different skills and experiences.
