Position Details

Infrastructure Victoria is an independent statutory authority which provides expert advice, undertakes research and guides decision making on Victoria's infrastructure needs and priorities.

The Data analyst will use coding languages and software tools (e.g. Python, R, GIS platforms) to analyse data and create visualisations to support strategic infrastructure projects and advice. They will develop and maintain geospatial datasets and provide insights and technical inputs to support infrastructure-related projects and decision-making.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong data analytical skills including analysing quantitative evidence in consultation with stakeholders to develop advice and recommendations. You will possess strong written and verbal communication skills to convey technical information clearly and show initiative in prioritising and executing planned work tasks.

Experience in geospatial data analysis and visualisation, with knowledge of econometric methods or experience integrating geospatial and economic data will be considered advantageous. A tertiary qualification in geography, data science, engineering, mathematics, economics, econometrics, planning or a related field will be highly regarded.
