About the Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Commissioner, the Deputy Secretary will provide strategic leadership across Victoria Police to ensure delivery of corporate priorities and targets within budget. This role is pivotal in driving organisational reform, modernisation, and continuous improvement across people, financial, legal, digital, and infrastructure frameworks.
As a member of the Executive Leadership Board, you will:
- Represent Victoria Police at the highest levels of government and external forums.
- Lead strategic coordination and integration of resources to support frontline policing.
- Drive reform in financial and investment frameworks, including submissions to government.
- Champion health, safety, and wellbeing strategies for all employees.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation across the organisation.
Your ability to influence, negotiate, and build strong partnerships will be critical to success in this role.
Requirements and Relevant Information
- The successful candidate must undergo and maintain a National Security Clearance at the level determined by the Chief Commissioner. Applicants must be an Australian Citizen or successfully obtain a Citizenship waiver.
- Appointment will be made in accordance with the Public Administration Act 2004 and the Victorian Public Service Executive Employment Handbook.
- Applications are welcome from sworn members and consideration may be given to appointment as a Deputy Commissioner, under the Victoria Police Act 2013.
- The successful candidate will enter into an Executive Officer Contract of Employment for up to five (5) years.
