About the role:

Road Policing Projects Division (RPPD) is a specialist area within Road Policing Command that specialises in the delivery of projects aimed at road safety outcomes.  This position forms part of the Roadside Drug Testing (RDT) 150 Project responsible for the continued delivery of the additional 50,000 RDTs in financial years 2021-22 and 2022-23 and the continued expansion of the RDT capability and capacity of Victoria Police.

RPPD is currently seeking a proficient Senior Project Manager to join our team and lead the RDT 150 Project. As the Senior Project Manager, you will lead a small project team to manage and oversee the delivery of a business case as well as a number of work packages to support the future of the RDT program.

Your duties will include:

  • Leading the development and delivery of all key project artefacts
  • Managing all governance forums and project workgroups
  • Participating in major project procurements and management of commercial issues
  • Financial monitoring and project progress and governance reporting
  • Participation across divisional initiatives and projects 

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Proven and highly developed project management skills with capacity to deliver and undertake competing priorities with a high attention to detail
  • Experience in effectively leading a high performing project team in a diverse, complex and dynamic organisation
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly developed stakeholder management skills

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) x full-time, fixed term position until 30 June 2023.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • In accordance with organisational policy, all Victoria Police employees are required to be fully vaccinated (including a booster vaccination) against COVID-19 or hold a valid medical exception.
