About the role:
As a Product Analyst for Radio Services, you'll play a critical role in shaping and enhancing the digital and technical products that support Victoria Police's mission. Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, you'll support product development whilst ensuring that our systems align with the needs of our frontline members. This role is ideal for someone passionate about creating solutions that drive service excellence in a high-stakes environment.

Radio Services Product Analyst
The Product Analyst role for Radio Services exists within Operational Technology and is part of the Frontline Technology Domain. The growth and complexity of radio services including the introduction of newer technologies within the current radio fleet has identified the need to build an enterprise radio services model and technical capability within Victoria Police.
The role will focus on supporting the technical capability and services within the Victoria Police radio fleet of 13,000 radio devices.
- As the product analyst, you will be responsible in supporting the Service Deliver Manager with managing the radio fleet of approximately 13,000 newer upgraded devices. You will be required to build a suitable capability within Operational Technology unit to leverage technical opportunities that are offered with the new upgraded radios g.,Radio Wi-Fi deployment, Long Term Evolution (LTE) connectivity, broadband Push to Talk etc.
- You will be supporting the product specialist with giving advice on performance of portable and mobile devices across the Metropolitan Mobile Network (MMR) UHF & Rural Mobile Network (RMR) VHF and Victoria Radio Network (VRN) network.
- Provide radio support and guidance across the various stakeholder groups including both ICT service delivery teams and Operational divisions within Victoria Police.
- Provide a technical liaison and support framework and liaise with other key stakeholders within the organisation on product performance and technical guidance.
- Develop a strategic technical capability within the organisation to manage the growth and complexity of newer technologies within the radio network environment.
- Develop a robust testing framework to assess newer technologies, undertake assessment and provide recommendations on device suitability and operational effectiveness.
- Monitor radio technology functionality, identify and recommend to senior key stakeholder opportunities to improve operational efficiencies.
- Be a system matter expert and technical reference point and mentor to personnel within the department.
- You will provide technical advice, recommendations, and thought leadership on all technical aspects of radio devices' service.
- Provide support to continuous improvement and continuous development for all team members.
- Work with vendors to develop solutions and seek resolution to complex radio communications problems.
Your duties will include:
- Resolve operational service delivery problems consistent with program objectives.
- Support the technical liaison function within other regions, departments and commands,
- Support of the radio network, including asset management, audit and compliance, radio accessories and customer support.
- Produce formal correspondence, including briefs and reports which are evidence based and clearly articulate trends, opportunities and risks associated with a recommendation and planned course of action.
- Complete evaluations and provide advice to actively contribute to the continuous improvement of radio services.
- Prepare authoritative reports and provide specialist advice on technical solutions at the program or organisational level.
- Develop and implement operational policy and solutions within the division and department.
- Provide technical field support and specialist advice to internal and external stakeholders based on your field of expertise.
- Ensure the effectiveness of radio application, and services in terms of functional fit for business purposes.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with a diverse range of internal and external personnel and stakeholders and collaborate with these stakeholders to achieve timely and accurate strategic advice.
- Manage and lead the delivery of quality and timely outputs by identifying and actively managing emerging opportunities, issues and risks.
As the successful applicant, you will have:
- Demonstrated technical experience working within a radio or telecommunications field.
- Proficient in ServiceNow and sound knowledge in The Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Frameworks
- Experience working in an agile and dynamic technology environment with commercial networks LTE, Cellular and Radio.
- Demonstrated commitment and achievement in meeting customer needs.
- Proven ability to interpret electronic and communication technical manuals and data to conduct periodic and prescribed maintenance procedures which meet legislated requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in all aspects of change and project management, including project analysis, research, systems analysis, and developing and coordinating strategic projects in a complex environment.
- Relevant experience working on radio infrastructure and delivery of radio services within a large complex environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including the ability to produce high quality concise reports, briefs and recommendations.
- Ability to interpret legislation, workforce agreements, policies, strategies and procedures.
- Proven ability to provide authoritative advice and solutions on governance and strategic issues.
- Proven ability to monitor client and stakeholder satisfaction, and constructively manage stakeholder issues to ensure positive outcomes for the stakeholder and the Region/Department/Command.
- A proven record of ethical behaviour and a demonstrated commitment to the Victoria Police Code of Ethics and Conduct and the Organisational Values.
Requirements and relevant information:
- Australian Citizenship is a must. PR not sufficient.
- One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
- VPSG4 salary range $95,102 - $107,905 p.a. plus superannuation.
- This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
- This position may require out-of-hours work as indicated in the Position Description relating to after hours service management issues (as attached to the advertisement).
- The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
- The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
