About Public Transport Victoria (PTV)

Public Transport Victoria (PTV) is a statutory authority that acts as a system authority for all public transport and an advocate for public transport users. We are a single contact point for customers wanting information on public transport services, fares, tickets and initiatives.  Your new role

The purpose of Health, Safety & Wellbeing Business Partner role is to work in close collaboration with the Senior Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager and the broader People and Culture Division to manage and deliver PTV's injury management program including work related and non-work related injuries. This role is also responsible for managing and coordinating a range of safety and wellbeing practices and initiatives to client groups across PTV. 

 Functional responsibilities will include (but are not limited to): 

  • Reviewing incident and injury reports and initiate case management and occupational rehabilitation services where required.
  • Providing effective case management for injured employees, including liaising with stakeholders, identification and evaluation of suitable employment duties, development and preparation of injury management / return to work plans and monitoring the progress of return to work activities.
  • Performing the day to day administration, monitoring and reporting of workers' compensation claims and return to work outcomes and initiate stakeholder meetings as required. Maintain and update the injury management policies and procedures.
  • Coordinating workers' compensation reimbursements and payments and monitor expenditure and accounts to ensure prompt payment.  Work with Finance to streamline payment processes where possible and ensure expenses incurred are appropriately costed.
  • Liaising with external organisations and service providers in relation to injury, claims and premiums management and represent PTV at external forums where required.
  • Coordinating a range of health and safety programs designed to reduce or prevent workplace injury and perform other tasks as required.
  • Collaborating with all PTV divisions to support the wellness of our most important asset, our people.

 What you'll need to succeed

  • Extensive experience in injury management, Workcover claims management, rehabilitation and return to work programs and premiums management.
  • Experience in coordinating and managing safety and wellbeing programs.
  • Experience in interpreting and applying the Accident Compensation Act and other relevant Occupation Health and Safety legislation.

 Desirable (will be well suited to the role)

  • Ability to prepare concise reports, briefing papers and correspondence on a range of issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills.
  • Mental health background
