Position Details

As the successful applicant, some of your duties will include managing and leading the development and delivery of effective and efficient programs, methodology and systems that support internal and external clients including Victoria Police goals, strategies, requirements and objectives.

Your duties will include:

  • Lead or participate in developing and delivering effective and efficient statistical management programs, methodology and systems that supports Victoria Police corporate goals, strategies, as well as public sector and social requirements.
  • Provide a consultancy service and review capacity to the Region/Command management in relation to Victoria Police wide application and delivery of statistical management and associated services.
  • Provide major input into the examination, development and review of practices, standards and procedures with key stakeholders relating to the collection, collation, storage, analysis and dissemination of statistical data throughout the Region/Command.
  • Contribute to the achievement of the Region/Command objectives in an environment of continual change.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of developments and initiatives relevant to strategies and systems aimed at identifying customer needs and improving statistical service deliverables to Region/Command management.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Sound knowledge of and demonstrated experience in the application of statistical data management.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of strategies, policies and procedures relevant to the management and implementation of significant statistical data and evaluation techniques in a public sector environment.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • Two (2) x full time, ongoing position available.
  • Qualifications in statistics, computing or social science is highly desirable
  • Experience in in-depth statistical analysis using Statistical Software is highly desirable.
  • Experience in high level use SAS software and complex data bases is advantageous.
  • Experience in managing professional staff is necessary.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • In accordance with the Acting Chief Health Officer's Direction – COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions, you are required to be fully vaccinated (this includes a booster vaccination) and your employment with Victoria Police is subject to proof of vaccination.
