Position Details

About the role:

The Public Support Information Officer is located in the Central Data Entry Bureau, which operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The Central Data Entry Bureau is responsible for the data entry of all offender information in the Victoria Police database, triaging of electronic data from Courts Victoria in relation to bail and intervention order data, releasing of criminal histories to interstate and international law enforcement and a central contact point for the National Domestic Violence Order Scheme.

Your duties will include:

  • Preparing, checking and updating criminal history information onto corporate databases.
  • Providing accurate, prompt and professional advice to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide a range of administrative functions and support.
  • The ability to assess the accuracy and completeness of information in accordance with established standards and procedures.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Ability to assess the accuracy and completeness of information in accordance with established standards and procedures.
  • Experience in data entry.
  • Ability to accurately maintain and utilise a range of electronic and manual records and information systems.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • Six (6) x full-time, ongoing positions available. Rotating shift work is required.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • This position requires shift work as indicated in the Position Description (as attached to the advertisement).
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
