Position Details

About the role:

The Organisational Performance Division provides accurate business intelligence from a range of corporate data sets. This intelligence is used by managers at all levels of the organisation to help make informed decisions in relation to planning, strategy development, tasking and coordination, rostering and performance. The division is introducing a portal presence and visual analytics software to give VicPol managers and intelligence practitioners easy access to important performance related data.

Your duties will include:

  • Developing dashboards and other data visualisations.
  • Developing, managing, and maintaining data models.
  • Engaging with stakeholders to understand requirements.
  • Innovating solutions for the consumption of data at all levels of the organisation.

  • Ability to provide guidance and assistance and work successfully and effectively in a small team environment.


Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head.  To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • In accordance with organisational policy, all Victoria Police employees are required to be fully vaccinated (including a booster vaccination) against COVID-19 or hold a valid medical exception. As such your employment with Victoria Police is subject to providing evidence of your vaccination status.
  • Tertiary qualifications in the related field of Data Science, Computer Science or mathematics are highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of the SAS Enterprise Business Intelligence product suite is highly desirable.
