Position Details

As the successful applicant, you will be responsible for providing a broad range of administrative support services to members at the Ararat Police Station. The position is based at Ararat.

Your duties will include:

  • Maintain and update accurate comprehensive records associated with intelligence operations.
  • Process data of organisational significance, in accordance with established procedures and guidelines, ensuring sustained quality control in a sensitive and confidential environment.
  • Perform a broad range of office support tasks including preparation of reports and general correspondence, keyboard and data entry.
  • Assist other team members in the use of databases.
  • Manage the reception function for the Unit including telephone and office enquiries and attend to the customer service needs of management and clients providing initial advice and assistance on general aspects of intelligence in accordance with Victoria Police guidelines.
  • Liaise professionally, consistently and responsively with other staff involved in the maintenance and collation of data generated by Victoria Police systems

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Experience in working with computers and various programs to perform a range of administrative tasks including records management, data entry and word processing tasks.
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritise work with minimal supervision.
  • A strong commitment and a demonstrated record in meeting customer needs.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of clients both orally and in writing.

Requirements and relevant information

  • One On-going Part Time position (0.6800 FTE)
  • VPS2: $55,439 - $71,194 p.a. plus superannuation pro rata
  • The usual place of work will be Ararat Police Station, 77 Barkly Street, Ararat. However, you may be expected to work out of any location within WD4 Tasking & Coordination PSA, as required.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • In accordance with the Acting Chief Health Officer's Direction – COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions, you are required to be fully vaccinated and your employment with Victoria Police is subject to proof of vaccination.
