About the role:

Victoria Police is currently advertising one (1) full-time, VPSG-2 position within Southern Metro Region, Division One. As the successful applicant, you will provide administrative support within an existing team. Your primary role will be as an Administrative/Property Officer with initial duties at Prahran Police Station.

Victoria Police is a contemporary and agile workplace and supports flexible working arrangements.

Your duties will include:  

  • The administration and management of property seized and found.
  • If required, undertake a further range of functions around the receipt, management and disposal of property items in accordance with police policy and relevant legislation.
  • Archiving documents.
  • Ordering stationery and consumables.
  • Working on various Victoria Police databases.
  • Prepare routine correspondence on a range of administrative matters and attend to follow-up procedures as required.
  • Attend to enquiries from internal and external stakeholders, provide initial information and advice as required.

As the successful applicant, you will have:  

  • Great interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively within a dynamic team environment and ability to work independently.
  • General computer/Microsoft Office skills to perform a range of administrative tasks including, records management, data entry tasks.
  • Ability to communicate well with key internal and external stakeholders using a variety of communication channels and platforms.
  • Ability to maintain systematic and accurate administrative records.
  • The ability to interpret and apply legislation, policy and procedures.
  • Good time management skills with the ability to proactively manage consecutive tasks and work to timelines.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
  • This position is located at the Prahran Police Station, 396 Malvern Rd, Prahran, Victoria, 3181.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • In accordance with the Acting Chief Health Officer's Direction – COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions, you are required to be fully vaccinated (this includes a booster vaccination) and your employment with Victoria Police is subject to proof of vaccination.
