About the role:
An exciting opportunity exists within the Equipment and Fleet Division for an experienced and talented manager to lead a multi-disciplinary team across the Uniform and Equipment Branch at Victoria Police.
Reporting to the Director, Equipment and Fleet Division, the Portfolio/Project Manager is responsible for the management of a range of large uniform and operational equipment projects. They will oversee a team of 16 team members including VPS and Police Offices to facilitate ongoing research and development of comprehensive technical product specifications, considering safety, function, integration and fit.
This role is part of the Equipment and Fleet Division, which is responsible for the delivery of a range of critical operational services to ensure Victoria Police Officers are equipped to perform the required duties. This includes the management and provision of firearms, uniform, operational equipment, ballistic vests, and vehicles to frontline members, as well as delivering corporate strategic projects.

Your duties will include:
- Leading a team of VPS employees and Police Officers.
- Providing strategic project direction, ensure adherence to project management principles and overall project delivery.
- Implementing innovative customer centric strategies to ensure stakeholder engagement captures the needs of Victoria Police members to enable the successful delivery of the uniforms and operational equipment.
- Managing a range of competing priorities across the portfolio to meet the varied needs of a larger variety stakeholders.
- Leading development of project deliverables and schedules to achieve project outcomes.
- Overseeing risk management and mitigation strategies.
- Direct development and implementation of collaborative and innovative stakeholder strategies.
- Maintain contemporary knowledge of technical advances, Australian and International standards, legislative and OH&S requirement for unform and equipment products.
As the successful applicant, you will have:

- Superior level communication skills, including the ability to write high level, concise reports, briefs, and correspondence.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with the proven ability to establish and sustain effective working relationships through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Sound financial management skills to ensure projects are kept within budget.
Requirements and relevant information:
- One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
- This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, Docklands.
