Position Details

There is currently one vacant ongoing VPSG-2 Administration Support Officer position within the Joint Counter Terrorism Command (JCTT), Counter Terrorism Command. Melbourne JCTT is a multi-agency task force comprising of Victoria Police, Australian Federal Police and the Commonwealth Attorney Generals Department. The JCTT forms a part of the Counter Terrorism Command, Operations Division. As a successful applicant, you will be required to provide quality and timely administrative support to the JCTT. This position reports to the Detective Inspector, JCTT.

Your duties will include:

  • Record keeping and correspondence management
  • Stationary ordering and analysis
  • Rostering and leave record management as requested by the Work Unit
  • Assisting with telephone enquiries
  • Intranet publishing
  • Access requests
  • Providing general administrative support
  • Undertaking secretariat duties for a range of committees
  • Providing general financial administrative activities
  • Demonstrating integrity particularly in relation to handling confidential material

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Ability to maintain systematic and accurate administrative records.
  • Commitment and achievement in meeting a high level of customer service to all clients.
  • Ability to prioritise work with minimal supervision
  • Great interpersonal skills to effectively engage with key stakeholders and work well within a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
  • This position is located at 383 La Trobe Street, Melbourne. There will be an office relocation in 2023 to 155 Little Lonsdale Street, Melbourne.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head.  To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • In accordance with organisational policy, all Victoria Police employees are required to be fully vaccinated (including a booster vaccination) against COVID-19 or hold a valid medical exception. As such your employment with Victoria Police is subject to providing evidence of your vaccination status.
