Victoria Police have an exciting opportunity for a professional ICT Domain Architect to provide architectural governance, strategy and roadmap development across Victoria Police Group Technology ICT Systems. A key deliverable of this role is to inform how Victoria Police can most effectively achieve its current and future objectives through information, communications, and digital technology within the Group Technology Domain ICT Domain.

 

The Group Technology Domain within Victorian Police covers the below technologies –

  • Infrastructure (Networking, Telecommunications, Compute, Storage and Databases)
  • Cloud services (IaaS, PaaS & SaaS)
  • Integration, VMS and Geospatial platforms
  • End user technology platforms (M365, Sharepoint & Teams)
  • End point management (Audio Visual, Windows 10, SCCM, Intune)

 

This role will be working in a professional, highly dynamic and established team of ICT service professionals and will be regularly exposed to the various disciplines that Victoria Police operates in.

Your duties will include:

  • In partnership with Domain ICT Product Managers, ensure the effectiveness of the Group Technology ICT technology platforms covering and services in terms of functional fit for business purpose and effectiveness of service delivery on behalf of Victoria Police, including the development, maintenance and enablement of technology product roadmap(s).
  • Developing and maintaining product roadmap(s) agreed with our business that enables the agreed service and functional needs of the business.
  • Leading the development and implementation of ICT Domain architecture frameworks, and product roadmaps
  • Identifying technology-enabled innovation opportunities that respond to global and business drivers and enable business strategy
  • Developing and maintaining high level ICT architectures and solution options in response to business initiatives and requirements
  • Provide architectural governance over the development and implementation of approved solution designs
  • Leading and facilitating interaction with business leaders, product managers and product owners on the strategic direction for Victoria Police technology,
  • Leading analysis of the business' future-state capabilities and future (and current) IT environment to identify opportunities and recommend solutions for improvement within the Group Technology ICT Domain
  • Participate in Whole of Victoria Government (WoVG) Architecture Working Groups

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Extensive experience working in business, information, solution or technical architecture.
  • A strong and diverse background in delivering results in information, communications and digital technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of ICT and business stakeholders and bring diverse groups together to achieve shared objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate the complexity of government to achieve results and obtain support.
  • Demonstrated ability to respond to a dynamic and rapidly changing environment with flexibility.
  • Resilience and creativity to deal with resistance and identify innovative solutions.
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills to articulate a vision and present information in compelling ways
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results and marshal professional expertise.
  • Demonstrated experience at a senior level in the preparation and provision of responsive, clear and concise specialist advice, recommendations and solutions both verbally and in writing through effective research, negotiation and consultation with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills together with demonstrated strong written communication skills
  • Undergraduate degree in Technology, Business or Engineering disciplines is highly desirable
  • Experience working in an agile and dynamic technology environment
  • Demonstrated experience working with Architecture Frameworks (i.e. TOGAF, SAFe)

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) x full time, ongoing position available.
  • Vps 6 salary range $127,467 - $170,579 per annum + super + leave loading.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • In accordance with the Acting Chief Health Officer's Direction – COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions, you are required to be fully vaccinated (this includes a booster vaccination) and your employment with Victoria Police is subject to proof of vaccination.
