Position Details

About the role:

The Victoria Police Exposure Risk Assessment and Management (ERAM) team provide assessment and management of COVID-19 positive cases in the workplace. 

ERAM is a non-public facing role and provides guidance and rapid support for accurate and consistent COVID-19 exposure risk assessments, outbreak management and contact tracing for Victoria Police employees. ERAM works with the Department of Health (DoH) to provide support for case management of close contacts, ensuring appropriate testing and clearance processes are in place.

The position is based within the Heath, Safety and Wellbeing Division of the Human Resource Department.

Person Attributes:

ERAM team members demonstrate excellent customer focus skills, an ability to thrive in a high tempo and rapidly changing environment; and an ability to provide consistent advice to Victoria Police employees seeking guidance for COVID-19 exposure risk assessment, outbreak management and contact tracing. Team members will regularly use Victoria Police applications. 

Return to Workplace

In line with the public health restrictions, all Victoria Police employees are required to return to the workplace for at least 60 percent of their working hours, unless a medical exemption or other approved arrangement is in place. Working from the Victoria Police Centre (VPC) will be directed by the ERAM management team and align with organisational COVIDSafe best-practice, legislation, and Chief Health Officer (CHO) directives.

Your duties will include:

The guiding principles for ERAM will be to provide advice to both internal and external customers in a timely manner to ensure benefits such as:

  • Supporting Victoria Police frontline service delivery by providing assistance to managers for accurate and consistent COVID-19 exposure risk assessments, outbreak management and contact tracing of their employees.
  • Providing support to Custody Management Division regarding close contact tracing for prisoners – including after-hours reporting.
  • Increasing capacity and productivity for all employees including frontline members by assisting employees and their managers to remain informed of the progress of their case.
  • Increasing community confidence in Victoria Police to provide a high level of service delivery during periods of high demand.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Previous experience with COVID contact tracing within the DoH environment is desirable.
  • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Experience in developing stakeholder engagement and relationship management to ensure positive outcomes in relation to risk assessment, outbreak management and contact tracing on behalf of Victoria Police.
  • Demonstrated ability to think on your feet and work flexibly with limited supervision and/or as a team member, contributing to the team and organisation goals.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly developed administration skills, including provision of secretariat support to the senior management team, as required.
  • Demonstrated skills in managing office systems and maintaining continuous improvement of those systems.
  • A proven record of ethical behaviour and a demonstrated commitment to the Victoria Police Code of Ethics and Conduct and the Organisational Values

Requirements and relevant information:

  • Two (2) full time, fixed term positions available - (6 months from commencement date).
  • ERAM's operating hours are 8.00am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday.
  • The positions are located within the Victoria Police Centre 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • In accordance with the Acting Chief Health Officer's Direction – COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions, you are required to be fully vaccinated and your employment with Victoria Police is subject to proof of vaccination.
