About the role:
One x full-time (1.0 FTE), and One x part-time (0.46 FTE), ongoing positions available.
The role is working within the Road Policing Drug & Alcohol Section of Victoria Police, to provide support to the impaired driving enforcement programs. These positions are located at the Police Complex at Dawson Street Brunswick. One position is a full-time and ongoing (1 FTE) and the other is part-time and ongoing (0.46 FTE).
We are currently seeking capable Senior Administration Assistants to join our team and provide administrative support. These roles are critical to ensuring effective day to day Road Safety Act forensic sample and record management administration in support of operational policing activities. These positions will report directly to an Administration Manager, and subsequently to the Senior Sergeant and the Branch Manager of the Evidence Management Unit at the Road Policing Drug & Alcohol Section.
An induction program and full training of the role and position requirements will assist the successful applicants to confidently carry out their position duties.

The successful applicant will be required to work onsite due to the nature of the role responsibilities.
Your duties will include:
- Using appropriate administrative IT applications and databases to undertake forensic sample processing and case management duties;
- Maintaining chain of custody records and other relevant evidence relating to the movement and recording of Road Safety Act forensic samples;
- Undertaking administrative tasks and functions to create reports for management teams;
- Undertaking regular forensic sample couriering duties;
- Attending court on behalf of Victoria Police when required to give continuity evidence in relation to the processing and record management of Road Safety Act forensic samples;
- Providing support to projects relating to impaired driving enforcement or the workplace.
As the successful applicant, you will have:
- Demonstrated administration and reporting experience and capability, including the ability to achieve objectives within tight timeframes, and actively engage stakeholders;
- Experience in using IT applications and databases such as the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel;
- Ability to maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, negotiate the resolution of administrative issues, and contribute and cooperate to achieve positive workplace outcomes;
- Ability to work by direction as well as autonomously on your own initiative and be self-motivated and driven;
- Possess good, interpersonal and written communication skills;
- A current Victorian Drivers licence;
- Ability to effectively and flexibly operate in a dynamic and diverse working environment;
- Willingness to be part of a dynamic hard-working team to support the impaired driving program in Victoria
Requirements and relevant information:
- One (1) x full-time (1.0 FTE), ongoing position available, and (1) x part-time (0.46 FTE), ongoing position available.
- Your usual place of work will be within Road Policing Drug & Alcohol Section, at the Police Complex at 20 Dawson St. Brunswick. This is part of the Road Policing Operations & Investigations Division, Road Policing Command, however you may be required to work at any other locations within the Command as required.
