About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced educators/ facilitators to develop and deliver an organisational capability project.  This project focuses on the training strategy of Victoria Police members for the Public Drunkenness Decriminalisation in Victoria.  This project will change the services that Victorians are provided when intoxicated.  It is part of the Victorian's Government health led response to public intoxication reform.

This is a high profile and complex project that requires a high level of flexibility and innovative thinking.  You'll work closely with Victoria Police members and the policy project team.  You'll report to a Learning Manager and will be provided coaching and support to ensure success.

This role has a strong focus on training facilitation and delivery.  You will assist in the development of curriculum and learning materials, evaluations and creating innovative learning methodology.  You will be part of small team and be responsible to deliver a quality product and achieve the project outcomes. 

The Learning Manager and four education consultants will be based in Glen Waverley. There is an expectation that you will need to visit police stations across Victoria as part of the state-wide implementation.

These roles will suit people with a background in learning development and delivery, seeking a project that will have significant impact.

Your duties will include:

  • Developing curriculum and learning materials
  • Facilitating training
  • Working with Subject Matter Experts (Victoria Police members)
  • Contributing to project reporting
  • Participating in continuous improvement activities
  • Contributing to the evaluation of training
  • Supporting the Learning Manager as required

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in training delivery and facilitation
  • Ability to work with subject matter experts
  • Ability to engage learners and meet their needs
  • Experience in developing learning materials
  • High level of adaptability in an uncertain environment
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and/ or other relevant qualifications

Requirements and relevant information:

  • Three (3) x full-time, fixed positions available until June 2024.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Academy, cnr View Mount Road and Waverley Road, Glen Waverley.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • In accordance with organisational policy, all Victoria Police employees are required to be fully vaccinated (including a booster vaccination) against COVID-19 or hold a valid medical exception.
