The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) serves the community by hearing and deciding on a diverse range of matters in a timely, cost effective and efficient way. Finalising more then 85,000 cases a year – at over 46 venues across Victoria, VCAT is the busiest tribunal in Australia.

VCAT is seeking an exceptional Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation through an exciting transformation agenda focused on enhanced digital service, easier access, stronger stakeholder relationships and an organisational culture that is empowered and ready for change.

The CEO reports to the President of VCAT with whom there must be a very strong and collaborative working relationship. The CEO must also successfully manage a series of pivotal relationships including Tribunal members, stakeholders across government departments and agencies, community advocacy groups and the private sector. The CEO will work closely with the CEO, Court Services Victoria (CSV) and collaboratively with CSV executives and other jurisdictions CEOs.

VCAT has an ambitious reform agenda detailed in its strategic plan – VCAT for the Future 2018-2022. The President of VCAT recently commenced a strategic review against this plan, and the CEO is a principal partner and advocate in this process and has a key role in ensuring the stability of VCAT through a time of significant transformation.

The ideal candidate will have strong track record of leadership within a complex public-sector stakeholder environment and demonstrated success in leading organisational and culture change initiatives.
