Position Details

The Specialised Offender Assessment and Treatment Service (SOATS) is a business unit within Corrections Victoria (CV) that provides a system of assessment, management and intervention across both Prison and Community Correctional Services with a view to reducing the risk of reoffending and correspondingly protecting the community.

About the role

The Director, SOATS is a newly created executive position which reports to the Deputy Commissioner, Offender Management and works closely with CV's Clinical Director. In this key role you will have responsibility for leading and coordinating a large scale and multi-faceted business unit that delivers highly specialised clinical services in a complex forensic environment.

The introduction of this Director role to the CV senior management team recognises the importance of specialist leadership in offender management services, including the implementation of strategic reform and the professional development of our clinical workforce.

About you

We are seeking candidates who have:

  • Significant experience in providing leadership within a highly complex service delivery area, with a proven ability to cultivate a high performing team, enrich development and nurture a positive working environment.
  • A demonstrated ability to lead the organisation strategically, navigate skilfully and provide leadership within the political context. .
  • An ability to embed the department's vision and strategy and actively promote departmental values and behaviours.

As a highly recognised and trusted leader, you will proactively champion and lead the provision of clinical programs and services that are aligned with behaviour management, assessment and intervention services critical to SOATS and the Regional Service Network.

You will also drive the uplift in capability and knowledge of your workforce and enhance the performance of services and outcomes in line with changing statutory duties required by government and other strategic reforms.
