Relieving Infection Control Support


This is a key role supporting the Infection Control Coordinator position through backfill during periods of planned and emergency leave.

The successful applicant will be supported to complete an authorised infection control course (or equivalent):

Course - Foundations in Infection Control

Organisation - Australasian College for Infection Prevention & Control

It is an opportunity for a registered division one nurse to expand their infection control knowledge and consolidate leadership skills during the current pandemic environment.

Infection control practice in a regional health service covers but not limited to:

  • Hand hygiene compliance,
  • monitoring and reporting of infections,
  • auditing compliance to standards and legislation,
  • attendance to organisational meetings as required,
  • providing staff vaccination,
  • policy development and review
  • compiling reports and submission of data as required
  • Support ongoing COVID-19 response across the health service
