Position Details

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate Senior Lawyer to join us at the VBA.

In the role of Senior Lawyer you will work independently to provide expert legal advice to the Chief Executive Officer, General Counsel, Assistant General Counsel, Directors and senior managers, including advice in relation to contractual matters, corporate governance risk, commercial matters and providing statutory interpretation advice.  

As our ideal candidate you will have significant legal experience, good legal drafting skills, strong attention to detail, time management and interpersonal skills with the ability navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced and changing environment.

 

Who we are looking for

Significant demonstrated experience in providing high-level and complex legal advice

Expert working knowledge of administrative and commercial law, statutory interpretation, and other relevant legislation, and the rules of procedural fairness.

Well-developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to prepare clear and concise documents, information and tailor your advice to your audience

Good conceptual and analytical skills with the ability to make sound decisions
