A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced professional with a background in investment promotion, business development, and relationship management, together with a detailed understanding of the global business environment (in particular as it relates to the USA), to join the VGTI network.
Reporting to the Senior Director Investment and Operations, this position will support and deliver investment opportunities, delivering on investment projects and working with key executives of organisations that already have, or are planning to invest in Victoria. In order to deliver on investment outcomes, the successful applicant will work with colleagues in Melbourne as well as those across the Americas and the Victorian Government Trade and Investment Global Network. While the role engages with companies across multiple sectors, strong knowledge of the technology and energy sectors in Australia and North America is highly desirable.
Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will possess:
- Proven experience in investment facilitation and attraction, particularly in the technology and energy sectors, including working as a team to secure investment.
- Significant knowledge of the North American and Victorian business environments, including Victorian competitive advantages, and key drivers affecting investment.
- Demonstrated experience in managing strategic relationships and facilitate major decision making within complex organisations that have varied stakeholders and multiple geographies.
- Proven analytical skills in lead generation, investment promotion, international investment decision-making processes and business development.
The successful candidate for this locally engaged position will be responsible for all arrangements and costs in relation to relocation and visas (if applicable), their accommodation and day-to-day living expenses.
