A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced senior professional with an extensive background in investment attraction and lead generation together with a detailed understanding of the global business environment, particularly in the Americas and Victoria, Australia, to join the Victorian Government Trade & Investment (VGTI) network.

Reporting to the Senior Investment Director, this position will support a team of Investment Managers across the Americas region who are seeking to identify businesses that may potentially be looking to grow internationally and/or set up operations in the Asia/Australia market.

The role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively on dynamic programs with colleagues across the VGTI network and may involve travel across the Americas. The team values candidates who are proactive, impact-driven and passionate about international trade and investment.

Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will possess:

  • Extensive experience in investment facilitation and attraction, particularly in the technology sector.
  • Strong understanding of the North American, Australian, and Victorian business environments and Victoria's international competitive advantages and key drivers impacting international investment to Victoria.
  • Significant and superior analytical skills in investment promotion, international investment decision-making processes and business development.
  • Comprehensive communicator with the ability to conduct primary research into new opportunities, make presentations to senior level executives, and successfully conduct commercial negotiations.

The successful candidate for this locally engaged position will be responsible for all arrangements in relation to relocation expenses (if applicable), their accommodation and day-to-day living expenses.
