About Us

The Victorian Government Trade and Investment (VGTI) international network underpins Victoria's offshore investment attraction and trade promotion operations, supports government and business engagement between Victoria and relevant market and coordinates Ministerial visits to the country.

About the Role

Reporting to the Commissioner for Victoria in the Americas, this position is responsible for generating investment attraction by establishing relationships with key executives of corporations that either already have significant investments in Victoria or are planning to make investments. This role works collaboratively with colleagues based at Head Office in Melbourne, as well as across other international offices.

About You

As our successful candidate, you will have:

  • A strong background in investment promotion and business development;
  • Detailed understanding of the global business environment (in particular as it relates to the United States);
  • Knowledge of the major issues impacting Australia and Victoria's ability to attract international investment;
  • The ability to engage with companies across a wide range of areas, with strong sector knowledge of technology.

The successful candidate for this locally engaged position will be responsible for all arrangements in relation to relocation expenses (if applicable), their accommodation and day-to-day living expenses.

Employment Eligibility

Candidates must be entitled to work in the United States, either as a US citizen or Green Card holder. Australian citizens who are eligible for an A2 class visa may apply and will be assisted with obtaining the foreign government official visa should an offer of employment be made. The successful applicant will be subject to a background check through the relevant law enforcement authorities. A psychometric test may be required. Applicants will be subject to a three month probationary period.
