About the Role

• Classification: Locally Engaged Staff
• Salary: Starting from GBP 80,515 per annum
• Work Location: Victorian Government Trade & Investment (VGTI) office, London
• Employment Type: Full Time, 2-year fixed term contract

A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced senior professional with an extensive background in investment promotion and business development, together with a detailed understanding of the global business environment (in particular as it relates to the UK and Europe), to join the Victorian Government Trade & Investment (VGTI) network.

This position is responsible for developing and implementing foreign direct investment attraction strategies and generating new investment leads into Victoria from the UK, Europe and Israel. This position will involve identifying and communicating opportunities for Victorian investment to companies across the region.

Working in a small and supportive team environment, the development of strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders is vital to the role and requires someone who is proactive, flexible and solutions oriented; confident and diplomatic, and with excellent communication skills.

Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will possess:
• Extensive background in investment promotion, business development, lead generation initiatives.
• Demonstrated understanding of Victoria's priority sectors, particularly the defence, technology and advanced manufacturing sectors.
• Familiarity with the Australian and Victorian business environment, including key industry, economic and socio-political drivers, and proven knowledge of Victoria's international competitive advantages, with translation into a business case development context.

The successful candidate for this Locally Engaged Position will be responsible for all arrangements and costs in relation to visa, relocation expenses (if applicable), their accommodation and day-to-day living expenses.
