Position Details
The Victorian Government established the Labour Hire Authority (LHA) to introduce a licensing system to regulate the provision of labour hire services across Victoria. LHA undertakes a range of licensing, compliance and enforcement activities, maintains public registers and conducts research and education in accordance with the Labour Hire Licensing Act 2018 (Vic) (Act).
About the role
The Communications and Engagement Branch supports the LHA mission by planning, developing, and delivering a range of communications and engagement activities to LHA stakeholders. The team works closely with senior LHA staff and a range of stakeholder-facing teams to provide an integrated, organisation-wide communications and engagement service.
Reporting to the Engagement Lead, the Engagement Officer contributes to the planning, coordination, and delivery of a wide range of LHA stakeholder engagement activities. As an organised, reliable and responsive member of the team, this role is responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of initiatives for labour hire and host businesses, industry groups, workers, unions and other stakeholders.
The role provides event management, live production, communication and coordination support across a significant and evolving program of online and in-person presentations, meetings, expos and other events. The Engagement Officer is also a confident speaker and able to personally present material where required, alongside the Senior Engagement Officer. The role is also responsible for maintaining accurate records, preparing communication materials, and managing event logistics.
This role has a flexible work location with an option of Melbourne CBD or Bendigo.
About you
- Proven experience in planning and executing a range of events, including online and in-person formats, ensuring seamless coordination and successful outcomes
- Highly organised and detail-oriented, with strong organisation skills and experience managing projects, event logistics, documentation and administrative tasks
- A self-starter who is enthusiastic about driving best-practice engagement, with a proactive and innovative approach to achieving organisational goals
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to liaise at all levels
- A confident speaker and facilitator who can deliver engaging presentations in person or online and manage questions and feedback
