Position Details

We are seeking a Customer Service Officer who will be responsible for delivering effective administrative support to assist in the VBA's decision-making functions to register and license plumbers, including processing registration, license and renewal applications. As a Customer Service Officer you will have excellent phone manner, confidence to interact with colleagues, consumers, registered and licensed plumbing practitioners and industry stakeholders.

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this position, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of administrative and customer service support within a corporate or government environment to a high standard of competency.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across a wide range of stakeholders, proactively identify requires and to work through obstacles.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to utilise set templates and follow processes and procedures, produce accurate work, and verbally communicate information in a clear manner.
  • Proven organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure, prioritise, multi-task and deliver in a deadline driven environment.
  • Well-developed computing skills, including the use of Microsoft Office Suite, and use of databases.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment to meet business objectives, with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to proactively identify opportunities for generating workplace innovation, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and taking responsibility for initiating outcomes.
  • Experience in a government or statutory environment and the ability to interpret legislation and regulations is desirable.

Salary Details

Base salary in the Grade 2 range of $50,077 to $64,307 per annum (plus 9.5% super), will be negotiated with the successful candidate, depending on skills and experience.
