About the Position

Due to a period of internal growth we are excited to offer this ongoing opportunity. The Paralegal will, as directed by the Assistant Manager, Manager or Director, assist Investigators and Senior Investigators in the team with assigned investigations and litigation matters.

In undertaking the role, the position will have regular contact internally with all staff and externally with legal professional bodies, members of the public, complainants, legal practitioners, law practices, police, other regulatory bodies, and court and Tribunal staff.  .

Some of the responsibilities will include:

  • Provide high level and timely paralegal and administrative support with attention to detail.
  • Assist with investigative and litigation work of the Team, and otherwise as required, including contributing to and developing draft applications and briefs to Counsel.
  • Liaise with legal practitioners, complainants, witnesses, courts and tribunals, professional associations and other external parties.
  • Prepare detailed investigation reports and recommendations and associated correspondence.
  • Undertake other projects and activities as assigned by the Assistant Manager, Manager or Director.

About You

  • You will demonstrate a well-developed understanding of how to interpret and apply legislation
  • You will have completion of or progress towards a tertiary qualification in law or equivalent work experience.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal, analytical and written communication skills
