Position Details

An exciting opportunity exists within the Family Violence Programs and Initiatives Unit (FVPIU) of the Magistrates' Court of Victoria.

The FVPIU leads service excellence in family violence responses within the Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV). The FVPIU is responsible for the development of family violence policy and manages the relevant programs and initiatives to implement the Recommendations of the Royal Commission into Family Violence and deliver on Ending Family Violence: Victoria's 10 Year Plan for Change and the Indigenous Family Violence 10 Year Plan.

The Senior Policy Officer will use strong conceptual and analytical abilities to develop policy (and options for resolution of policy conflicts) which achieve the Court's family violence priorities.

The Senior Policy Officer will focus on supporting the day to day operations of the FVPIU as well as the implementation of the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Family Violence, including planning, design and development of relevant initiatives and participation on working groups.

The Senior Policy Officer will also contribute and support the Manager, FVPIU, to the broader development and delivery of court services and programs that support, protect and improve the outcomes for victims of family violence and hold perpetrators to account for their behaviour.
