The Magistrates’ Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority, and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state.
The Drug Court Clinical Advisor (DCCA) is responsible for providing clinical advice, treatment and referral service information for the Drug Court (DC) and DC participants, in line with the principles and practices of the model.
The DCCA plays a crucial role in undertaking comprehensive drug and alcohol assessments with potential Drug Court participants who have been referred to DCV. These assessments are used to inform the judiciary around suitability for Drug Treatment Orders and assist in shaping potential DTO conditions.
The DCCA is responsible for designing a treatment plan, liaising with alcohol and drug services and supporting the participant to achieve treatment goals. This role also provides secondary consultation to other members of the Drug Court team and the judiciary.
The DCAO works in a dynamic and innovative environment and develops collaborative relationships with a diverse range of key stakeholders.
