The Magistrates' Court of Victoria is seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic advanced case managers to be part of this exciting time of growth and change as we expand the Assessment and Referral Court (ARC) program to the Gippsland Region. You will be part of establishing a new program in the region, that aims to address the over-representation of people with mental illness and disability in the criminal justice system.
The role of the Advanced Case Manager is to provide case management support to clients with complex mental health and/or disability support needs. In these unique and challenging roles, you will work with clients for a 12 month period prior to their sentencing by the Court, supporting them to make positive changes to their lives and address the issues that may be contributing to their offending behaviour.
We encourage you to apply if you possess the following:

  • Relevant qualifications in social work, psychology or equivalent discipline
  • Extensive experience in assessing and case managing clients with complex needs
  • Detailed knowledge of the mental health and disability service systems and practice models for working with clients with complex mental health and/or disability support needs
  • Are a strong team player with effective communication skills and a flexible approach

In return, you will be offered a unique opportunity to develop your leadership and clinical skills within a supportive team environment. You will be provided with ongoing professional development opportunities and be part of a court-based team committed to supporting people with complex support needs.
