About Us
Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.
Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'.

About the Role
Join the Magistrates' Court in a pivotal role supporting the Assessment and Referral Court (ARC) List. This is a dynamic, purpose-driven position combining registry expertise with case coordination in a complex and sensitive environment. You will work closely with the judiciary and multidisciplinary teams to support participants experiencing mental illness or cognitive impairment while ensuring efficient court operations.
This ARC List Registrar position operates in a complex and sensitive court environment, combining case coordination with advanced registry duties. Working closely with the judiciary, ARC team and key stakeholders, you will support the effective delivery of the ARC List across the Gippsland region. The role involves managing case flow, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, and building strong stakeholder relationships. It also includes regular interaction with participants experiencing mental illness or cognitive impairment. You may also support other regional courts and provide supervision and mentoring to Trainee Registrars and Registrars as required.E
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate ARC List sittings, including bench clerking and case flow management
- Perform registry, legal and quasi-judicial functions with sound judgement
- Provide expert advice on court processes to stakeholders
- Build strong relationships with magistrates, legal professionals and service providers
- Support continuous improvement of practices and procedures
- Supervise and mentor registry staff as required
- Contribute to a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment
