Position Details

The Magistrates' Court of Victoria is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to be part of this exciting time of growth and change as we expand the Assessment and Referral Court (ARC) List to the Gippsland region.

The ARC List Registrar is responsible, in conjunction with the Senior Registrar and lead ARC List Magistrate, for co-ordinating registry functions of the ARC List in the Gippsland region. This includes managing case flow within the List, ensuring legislative requirements are met and building relationships with key stakeholders.

The position operates within a complex, demanding and sensitive environment that requires the capacity to exercise sound judgement, liaise effectively with the Judiciary, senior officers of the courts and government departments, and interact with individuals who are experiencing a mental illness and/or cognitive impairment.

  • Certificate IV in Government (Court Services) or equivalent.
  • A knowledge of legislation, practices, policies and procedures applicable to Victorian Courts and Tribunals.
  • An interest in working in a problem solving court setting.
