Establish the outcomes framework and evaluation plans for the Courts Family Violence Reform Program.

  • Fixed term until June 2020
  • VPS Grade 6
  • Melbourne Location

Court Services Victoria (CSV) is a public entity established by the Court Services Victoria Act 2014 to provide expert administrative support to Victoria's courts: the Supreme Court, the County Court, the Magistrates' Court, the Children's Court, and the Coroners Court, as well as the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal and the Judicial College of Victoria.

The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state.

MCV aims to be an innovative, accessible and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues.  Approximately 24% of these are Family Violence (‘FV') related (including FV Intervention Orders, Crime, Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal (‘VoCAT') and Family Law).

The Family Violence Unit leads service excellence in FV responses within the MCV. The unit is responsible for the development of FV policy and manages the relevant programs and initiatives to implement the Recommendations of the Royal Commission into Family Violence (RCFV) and deliver on Ending Family Violence: Victoria's 10 Year Plan for Change.

The MCV has identified that more than 130 RCFV recommendations will impact on its operations, service delivery and people. Implementing these recommendations will strengthen the way courts engage with and respond effectively to victims and perpetrators of FV.

The Evaluation Lead will be responsible for establishing the program outcomes framework and the evaluation plan for each specific project under the program and ensure alignment with the wider whole of government family violence outcomes framework.
