Provide support and non-legal advice to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander men accessing the court for Family Violence matters - VPS 4 - Ongoing

The Koori Men's Family Violence Practitioner (KMFVP) works as part of the Koori Family Violence and Victim Support Program (KFVVSP) team along with the Family Violence Registrar and Koori Women's Family Violence Practitioner.

The team works closely with internal and external stakeholders and organisations, and functions to provide a culturally safe and relevant response to Koori men accessing the court for family related matters including Family Violence Intervention Orders, Koori VOCAT or criminal matters.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are disproportionately affected by family violence. The Koori Men's Family Violence Practitioner will assess support needs of clients and provide effective services to address individual needs. The KMFVP will also undertake community engagement activities to support the promotion and awareness of the KFVVSP within the Koori community and among other key stakeholders.
