Position Details

An exciting opportunity exists within the Family Violence Programs and Initiatives Unit (FVPIU) of the Magistrates' Court of Victoria.

The FVPIU leads service excellence in family violence responses within the MCV. The FVPIU is responsible for the development of family violence policy and manages the relevant programs and initiatives to implement the Recommendations of the Royal Commission into Family Violence (RCFV) and deliver on Ending Family Violence: Victoria's 10 Year Plan for Change and the Indigenous Family Violence 10 Year Plan.

The Family Violence Information Sharing Assessment and Support Officer is responsible for the assessment of requests made to and from the Magistrates' and Children's Courts of Victoria under Part 5A of the Family Violence Protection Act 2008. The Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme is part of the delivery on the recommendations of Royal Commission into Family Violence. The role will also provide support to the FVPIU in other initiatives including, the Child Wellbeing and Safety Information Sharing Scheme and the Multi Agency Risk Assessment & Risk Management (MARAM), which will provide agencies with the tools to assess and manage family violence risk.
