Position Details

Opportunity to be part of a new initiative at a grass roots level – Operations focus – 9 Month Fixed Term Position to July 2020 – VPS Grade 3 – Geelong location

  • The successful candidate will gain unique exposure to elements of project management coupled with the opportunity to advance their skills and knowledge at the multi-jurisdictional Geelong Magistrates' Court.  
  • This is a fantastic chance to become a remote hearing expert within the court and contribute to planning in relation to the potential expansion of remote hearings in Magistrates' Court locations across the state.

  • The Magistrates' Court of Victoria is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state.
  • The court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 per cent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year.

About the role

  • The Family Violence Remote Hearing Registrar will play a critical role in the Remote Hearing Pilot.
  • Will work collaboratively with the judiciary, registrars and key partner agencies to meaningfully assist people experiencing family violence. 

About you

  • You will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
  • An advanced understanding of the Court's protocols and procedures particularly in relation to the family violence intervention order jurisdiction.
