About Us
The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
Specialist Courts and Programs (SCP) are the MCV Directorate responsible for driving the implementation and development of solution focused and therapeutic approaches to justice. Our specialist responses address the underlying causes of offending behaviour and stop the “revolving door” for individuals. Current services include Court Support and Diversion Services (CISP, CROP, Diversion), Assessment and Referral Court (ARC), Drug Court, Koori Court, Neighbourhood Justice Centre and the Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal.
About the Role
The General Manager, Insight and Reform is senior leader in the SCP divisions responsible for leading projects and new initiatives for the division, helping shape the future direction of service delivery and the transformation of SCP.
The General Manager is responsible for a small team that delivers directorate style support to the Executive Director; the delivery of policy and reform initiatives, analysis and evaluation functions; as well as, the management and oversight of contracted services.
The role provides expert advice ensuring activities are delivered effectively and efficiently, assisting to identify and mitigate risks while ensuring delivery of the SCP continuous improvement agenda.
This role will be called on to provide support and thought leadership to other areas in the development of service delivery, strategies and capabilities.
About You
To be successful in this role you will be an experienced public sector employee with a diverse skill base and capacity to work across multiple, competing priorities at any time. You will be an excellent stakeholder manager, able to work through differing points of view to achieve consensus and drive outcomes.
