About us

The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state.

The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 per cent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year.  The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.

About the role

Reporting to the Information Technology Coordinator and working closely with the MCV Technology Services Team, the IT Support Officer will primarily be responsible for providing timely and high-quality support to MCV IT Customers, including judiciary and staff.

The IT Support Officer will contribute to level 2 support and play an active role in assisting the team with various IT projects, from development to implementation.

About you

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to provide IT support over the phone, in person and via remote access software
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of internal staff with differing levels of ICT knowledge
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional PC Skills, including a high level of competence with MS Office
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisational structure
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to both works well within a team and be self-sufficient
  • Self-motivated and inspiring of others
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering high quality services and to improve outcomes
  • Demonstrated expertise in PC hardware, software and LAN/WAN facilities.
