The Manager, General Registry at the Melbourne Magistrate's Court is responsible for leading and managing the combined Civil / Criminal Registry and Cash Office at Melbourne Magistrates' Court.

This management role requires highly developed leadership and management experience in addition to an advanced understanding of the Court's protocols and procedures.

  • As a Registrar of the Magistrates' Court, manage and direct the performance of all legal, administrative and quasi-judicial functions relating to the day to day and ongoing operations of the General Registry and the Cash Office exercising appropriate statutory responsibilities to ensure court objectives are achieved.
  • Lead and manage the staff and operations of the General Registry of the Melbourne Magistrates' Court.
  • Monitor and interpret relevant legislation and procedures and formulate appropriate and authoritative advice on all civil and criminal matters within the Court's jurisdictions.
  • Contribute to the development of policy and procedures applicable to the civil and criminal jurisdictions by monitoring / identifying issues and making recommendations.
