Position Details
The Family Violence Registrar contributes to the Court's response to family violence, working alongside the judiciary, court registrars, support workers, police, legal services and other support services to effectively manage cases involving victims and perpetrators of family violence. The Family Violence Registrar builds relationships with key stakeholders, establishes and maintains links with community services and agencies in their local area, promotes information sharing amongst agencies and makes appropriate referrals.
The Family Violence Registrar provides a point of specialist contact for court users involved in proceedings arising from or including allegations of family violence, assists parties to understand court processes and services available, and liaises with all legal and non-legal support services.
This position works collaboratively with the Court Coordinator regarding the listing of matters that relate to family violence and intervention orders. As part of the network of Family Violence Registrars, the role also works collaboratively with the Family Violence Programs and Initiatives Unit to improve service delivery.
The Family Violence Registrar leads the Court's family violence team within their region. They will provide supervision and monitor the performance of the members of this team.
