About the role:

An ongoing full-time position reporting to the Strategic Communications Adviser. This role will call on you to plan, develop, design and deliver a broad range of communication materials with a special emphasis on the strategic use of contemporary media. To thrive in this position you will have experience in managing web content platforms, writing for government, design and produce key communication products for the and ensure consistent implementation of a brand/style guide. Knowledge of communication strategies, including media management would be desirable.

This position requires an individual who enjoys the challenge in an environment of competing priorities and to deadlines and can turn around work with a high level of attention to detail. Your outstanding written and verbal communication and relationship management skills will be critical to this role, as you work closely with stakeholders.

The Communications Officer will be able to:

  • Design and produce communication material suitable for diverse audience
  • Provide high level support to the Strategic Communications Adviser within a demanding and sensitive environment
  • Identify changing circumstances develop and implement appropriate communications strategies
  • Undertake other communications duties as required to meet organisational objectives

In order to be successful, applicants will:

  • Have a tertiary qualification in communication, public relations or relevant discipline
  • Demonstrate time management, organisational skills and attention to detail to manage priorities and meet deadlines
  • Be a communications professional with the ability convey a message and purpose to a range of internal and external groups
