About Public Transport Victoria (PTV)

Public Transport Victoria (PTV) is a statutory authority that acts as a system authority for all public transport and an advocate for public transport users. We are a single contact point for customers wanting information on public transport services, fares, tickets and initiatives. Your new role

The role of the Wayfinding Delivery Support Officer is to assist with the implementation of wayfinding, signage, timetables and maps at new or upgraded bus stops and interchanges supporting network service change events and improvement initiatives. The role is responsible for creating database outputs to inform stop-based customer information creation and installation by internal and external stakeholders. This role will update and maintain the databases with customer information attributes to ensure proactive data accuracy.

This role will also provide direction to installers when required and may be required to go onto the network from time to time to audit stops and interchanges to update databases as well as other duties as required.

What you'll need to be successful

Essential (must have to be considered for the position)

  • Well-developed computer literacy including proficiency in spreadsheet applications, databases, internet and word processing. 
  • Strong attention to detail with proven ability to apply quality assurance processes relating to accuracy of information to ensure standards are maintained.
  • Good oral and written communication skills including preparation of project scopes, reports, briefs and correspondence on issues associated with delivery of projects.
  • Good logistical and administrative skills, including the ability to coordinate work requirements and production outputs working with external suppliers.

Desirable (will be well suited to the role)

  • Proven understanding of sign design development and manufacturing methodologies in relation to the production of customer information projects.
  • Understanding of signage installation and procurement procedures and principles
  • Good understanding of Victoria's public transport system and of the role of operations and processes of government.
