Position Details

Working at Major Road Projects Victoria means being part of something big.

We oversee more than 50 projects as a cornerstone of Victoria's Big Build, including some of the State's most important roads.

Sustainability for Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) is not an add-on; from the highest levels of the organisation we are invested in achieving genuine sustainable outcomes.

Are you a sustainability professional or a project manager with a passion for sustainability? This is a key role within the MRPV Land, Planning & Environment team, where you will be working on identifying and delivering upon sustainability and circular economy opportunities on a wide variety of road infrastructure projects.

Join us in building better connections for Victoria by:

  • Leading, supporting and motivating a small team to support projects, ensuring delivery of sustainability performance requirements, lowering emissions and delivery of circular economy outcomes such as Recycled First opportunities and initiatives.
  • Seeking new and innovative ways to achieve sustainable infrastructure development, meeting the needs of our communities today without compromising the needs of communities in the future.
  • Establishing and maintaining strategic partnerships with key industry partners (including other MTIA project teams, DOT, ISC and research institutions) to identify needs, opportunities and priorities regarding sustainability inclusions across infrastructure projects, in line with evolving industry standards.
  • Providing expert advice and leadership regarding the development of sustainable infrastructure to relevant stakeholders internally and externally to MRPV.

Naturally we are looking for a proven track record and extensive experience in the development and delivery of infrastructure projects, including the use of rating tools, to deliver positive sustainable outcomes.

This is a 3 year fixed term role.

We do work that matters:

  • At our heart is a commitment to building better roads throughout Victoria. It's about creating more capacity for our network, improving safety and ensuring drivers enjoy more reliable journeys. But this is just beginning!
  • Have you also heard what we do in sustainability? From our ecologiQ reused and recycled materials program, to incremental improvements to processes and collaborative contracting model, we always keep an eye on what we can do better.
  • Check out our news feed – we want our communities to have their say!

MRPV also welcomes flexible working arrangements, and should you be interested in part time availabilities, we encourage you to apply and discuss your preferences with our Talent Team.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include national police checks and misconduct screening. Please be advised that it is requirement for all staff attending an MTIA Workplace to be compliant with the MTIA COVID-19 Vaccination Policy; the Policy stipulates that the employee must hold ‘up-to-date' status in accordance with ATAGI guidelines, which for most includes their primary vaccination course + booster.

To be part of something meaningful and leave a positive legacy connecting Victorian communities, apply for a role with us today.
