Position Details

  • Utilise your Human Resources expertise to provide support and advice to the Transformation Development and Capability branch
  • Six Fixed-Term, Full-Time opportunities to work with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public Service until 30th June 2026
  • VPS Grade 4: $95,102 - $107,905 plus superannuation.

If you are a talented YJ worker, and love sharing your skills and knowledge with others, then this opportunity could be for you. The Youth Justice (YJ) Learning & Capability team is currently seeking Expressions of Interest for twelve positions (six roles for twelve-month and six roles for six-months) as secondments to the role of Senior Officer- Learning and Capability (VPS4).

As a Senior Officer, you'll be entrusted with a range of responsibilities, including:

  • Delivering engaging training sessions to Youth Justice staff, including foundations training, refreshers, and top up training to staff across precincts
  • Plan engaging training sessions and develop Individual Learning Plans
  • Conduct assessments within the workplace
  • Complete reporting including attendance, assessment results, and compliance

We are seeking individuals with an extensive YJ experience, the ability to engage an audience and teaching skills. We will provide training to aid in your teaching, coaching, facilitation, and assessment skills, as well as course content.

For this position, you will be required to commit to:

  • Enrolling in and working towards, completion of the Certificate IV Training and Assessment
  • Completing the Certificate IV in Youth Justice (if you do not already hold the qualification)
  • Completing OST Instructor Accreditation
  • Delivering training 4-5 days per week (during the hours of 8:00am-9:00pm Monday to Friday) across a variety of locations

Here are the key details:

  • Full-time position, fixed term, starting as soon as possible
  • Work locations Cherry Creek, Parkville, as well as other training venues in the metropolitan West, South-West and Inner Northern Suburbs (availability to regularly teach across locations is a must).
  • Reporting line to the Assistant Manager, Custodial Delivery
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) desirable, but willing to complete if do not hold
  • VPS4 classification
  • Ongoing position/s may be offered from December 2025
