Museums Victoria is seeking a Manager, Car Park & Commercial Projects to optimise revenue and net contribution via Museums Victoria car parks. This will be achieved through the effective and efficient delivery of service, application of specialist knowledge, resolution of operational issues, effective risk management and by investigating and developing new and improved business opportunities.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

This position is accountable for optimising the revenue generated by Museums Victoria car parks through the efficient management of operations and the implementation of new car park business opportunities.

Duties

    1. Provide leadership of the Parking Services business unit and build an innovative, co-operative and service driven culture that maximises net position for Museums Victoria.
    2. Develop budgets and strategies including feasibility reports, business plans and tender documentation to achieve the Museums Victoria commercial strategy targets.
    3. Provide a high level of analysis and business modelling to optimise patronage and business performance. Prepare accurate financial and business reports and recommendations.
    4. Manage Car Park contracts at Melbourne Museum to ensure compliance; resolve contractual issues in a timely and appropriate manner.
    5. Monitor the performance of Car Park equipment and contractors and provide advice to ensure they deliver the highest possible level of service to visitors and protect Museums Victoria assets and revenue.
    6. Manage a program of compliance to Museums Victoria operating procedures such as data integrity, and cash handling and make recommendations on improvements to operations including: safety, equipment and facilities.
    7. Represent Museums Victoria within the parking industry and to external stakeholder groups such as City of Melbourne; build relationships and networks with industry colleagues and internal stakeholders.
    8. Monitor the condition of Museums Victoria Car Park assets and ensure they are maintained; negotiate with internal departments regarding ongoing repairs and maintenance of the car park to ensure service delivery is not disrupted.
    9. Manage car park staff including performance development and training and ensure communication with contract staff is effective and appropriate.

Key Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated experience in the management of car parks or significant experience within a similar commercial business;
  2. Demonstrated experience negotiating and managing service contracts;
  3. Experience developing and managing budgets, financial modelling and preparing business plans;
  4. Working knowledge of OH&S principles;
  5. Demonstrated team leadership or staff management experience and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders;
  6. The successful applicant is required to undergo a National Police Records Check and be assessed as suitable (new employees are required to meet this cost).

OTHER INFORMATION

This is a full time, ongoing position. The salary on offer is $79,955 (Base of Grade) + 9.5% superannuation.
