About the Position 

The Finance Officer, Accounts Receivable provides a range of finance and administrative services to internal and external customers, ensuring a high-quality customer service experience. The position is accountable for the timely, efficient and accurate reconciliation, reporting, processing and receipt of financial accounts in line with established compliance requirements. 

Key Duties 

The Finance Officer, Accounts Receivable will be responsible for the following key duties: 

  • Provide customer-focused finance and administration services to a range of clients including Museum Victoria staff and external debtors, developing and maintaining excellent relationships with these clients
  • Using the Finance Microsoft Dynamics GP system, process a range of financial transactions, including raising tax invoices and processing revenue receipts
  • Undertake daily reconciliations for admissions, commercial revenue, and online revenue to bank statements and debtor subledgers
  • Prepare, issue and follow-up end of month debtor accounts, issue standard debtor letters, track payments and follow-up with debtors as necessary
  • Respond to requests from internal and external clients and provide transactional reports regarding the status of their financial accounts in a timely and efficient manner 

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills: 

  • Demonstrated experience in processing, reconciling and reporting on financial transactions in line with established policies, procedures and compliance requirements
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as having the initiative to work independently in solving problems
  • Sound computing skills and experience with an online finance system, including tracking payments and producing transactional reports
  • Ability to work methodically and accurately with both manual and computerised records
  • A customer focused and organised approach to work with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff 

Other Information 

This is a full-time ongoing position. The salary on offer is VPS Grade 2, Value Range 2, with a base salary range of $72,189 per annum plus 12% superannuation.
